Abstract

The purpose of this article is to offer a critical perspective of the ways through which Universities understand their relationship with partners and the public outside the Academy. Particular attention is given to the context of Higher Education in the United Kingdom and to a definition of impact reinterpreted from the point of view of two historians interested in assessing the extent of their research with regard to the differences between the parameters RCUK and REF and to the interdisciplinary distinctions.
